Mika Ikeda

Mika Ikeda is a Japanese contemporary dancer, choreographer, actress, and model known for her commanding stage presence and deeply expressive movement. Born on July 2, 1984, in Akita, Japan, she began training in modern ballet at the age of 8. Her early talent garnered national acclaim, winning First Prize in national dance competitions four times, as well as the Newcomer’s Award and the Akita Prefectural Arts Award.

In 2018, she was invited to perform her original solo work Light of Silence (15 min) at the Incheon International Contemporary Dance Festival in South Korea, where it received widespread praise. The same work was later presented at the New National Theatre Tokyo in 2019.

In 2024, she was chosen as the solo dancer for the Opening Ceremony of the Tokyo International Film Festival, performing on the main stage of the Tokyo Takarazuka Theatre, with the red carpet as her dramatic backdrop.

With a career that seamlessly blends movement, storytelling, and visual expression, Mika brings a refined, internationally relevant artistry to every project. Her cross-disciplinary experience in dance, film, and fashion makes her a strong and unique presence on any creative team.
